Do you work for a company that cares about your health and wellness? Or, if you own a company, do you care about the health of your employees? Either way, June, which is National Employee Wellness Month, serves as a great time to either get started on employee wellness, or be more aware of it. It’s a win-win to get involved in employee wellness; employees are healthier and happier, and employers can see lower healthcare costs.
Created by Virgin HealthMiles in 2009, the annual initiative aims to showcase how supportive social communities, such as the workplace, can help to improve employee health and productivity and lower healthcare costs, and how leveraging an individual’s social connections helps create and sustain a workplace culture of health.
We here at SpaFinder are big into employee wellness, or as we call it, “workplace wellness.” From lunch-and-learns and Thursday group walks to Friday massage and some group workouts or fitness classes at local studios and gyms (read about our team experience with anti-gravity yoga, pictured right), we practice what we preach and take wellness as seriously as we want our readers and gift certificate users to. Luckily for everyone, wellness can be just as fun and relaxing as it is rewarding.
Tell us, does your company have a workplace wellness program in place, and if not, do you wish it did?
