Hello.
My husband and I own a small therapeautic day spa of five treatment rooms including one skincare room, a walk-in shower, locker and dressing room, barely used sauna and resting room with a front lobby/retail area. We have a small amount of money ($20,000) to remodel and are wondering what you think we might add and/or remove for the remodel? I was thinking a steam room would be more appreciated that the sauna, but would love feedback.
Thanks.

Hi Susie,
2010 is almost ending so…. what about your famous spoa trends for new year?
Thanks a lot!
Hi Barbara,
It is amazing to think that we are already heading to end of the year as the summer has gone so quickly. Rest assured I am already working on spa trends 2011 and as we do every year, they will come out end of November, beginning of December. Thanks for letting me know you are looking forward to them – I love doing the research for them and I think there will be some interesting things to look for in 2011!
Best,
Susie
Hello Suzie, enjoying reading some of your blog. Such a nice link you made about loss and the place of spa treatments.
Hello Susy,
I am a Spa manager. We worked with Germani of Capuchine for almost 2 year ( mostly american clients dont know about this brand) We have 1 year working with Pevonia Botanica, every body happy, my clients love this products and feel very confortable, but now we are looking for a supplier who give us products on consignment for our Retail. I am sad for that.
Could you please advise me about Comfort Zone?? or La Prairie???
If you have to put them in scale, which one go up and why?
What product do you recommend us?
Susie, Thank you very much for you time and share with us knowledge.
Regards,
Martha.
Hi Martha,
Both La Prairie and Comfort Zone are great products. Let’s let other readers who have worked with these products chime in with their thoughts. Those will be the most reliable!

I am interested in taking my 17 year old daughter to a spa for a few days over spring break. Are there any that you would recommend? Is this something appropriate for a 17 year old? She loves horses. yoga, exercise, massages and pampering. thanks
As the industry continues its move into wellness, more spas are boosting efforts to help people of all ages lead a healthier lifestyle — so it is very appropriate to take your 17-year-old daughter with you. (You may also be interested in reading the “Spas Become a Family Affair” trend, which was included in our recent 2012 Spa Trend Report.)
You have a bevy of options, and I have a couple of spa ideas in mind: The Ojai Valley Inn in Ojai, California hosts numerous yoga classes, from yin yoga to Kundalini to power yoga, and the concierge is available to arrange private and group horseback riding and horsemanship lessons at the local stables. Grail Springs Health Spa and Wellness Center in Ontario has its own equine program, led by its “horse whisperer” Richard Capener, and Vermont’s Topnotch Resort & Spa boasts an on-site equestrian center. The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, 40 minutes from Tucson, which partners with a local ranch for riding and has a spa celebrating eco-holistic treatments, is also a good choice.
I also invite you to use the www.spafinder.com website and simply type in “horseback riding” in the search bar labeled “Find & Book” to discover spas that offer this amenity. You’re also welcome to use SpaFinder’s Advanced Search tool — just tag “horseback riding” and “yoga” for an even more extensive search.
I wish you and your daughter happy travels!
Susie

Dear Susie,
I have to say your blog has me hooked! It’s so far reaching into what is happening in the spa industry. I love that you draw attention to the fast approaching needs of the baby boomers as well as to some very interesting treatments; using puppies in relaxation? Who doesn’t love that?
I started a spa here in Portland Oregon that has since grown to two locations and has received many awards for being one of the best in the City. I also run a business selling a product that my husband invented that treats pain naturally. Recently I have begun my own blog where I focus on coaching others on how they can achieve their highest potential.
I was wondering if you’d be interested on letting me do a guest post on how the spa industry has the potential to be instrumental in creating peace in the communities surrounding its clientele. Another election year is approaching and the tension and hostility that can often accompany competing political ideologies. Our spa centers on the idea that a peaceful world begins with the peaceful individual. I would love to offer your readers some insight into how we operate from this center. Let me know what you think. : )
Warmly,
Briana
Dear Briana,
Thank you for posting your comment on Susie’s blog. She asked me to let you know that she likes your idea regarding how spas can help lead to understandings between people and world peace. She suggests you either send in your thoughts by commenting on her blog or to write this for publishing whether for a publication or your blog to which I would be happy to consider linking.
Very best,
Alexandra

I recieve your emails all the time. I am intriged by the spa package for Belize. What is required of us should we but the package. It sounds to good to be true and it would be for our 30th Wedding Anniversary so I am leary as to what I would be getting into.
